Puzzle Hunt 2016

2019 Puzzle Hunt Announcement

After a three year hiatus, we are pleased to announce the return of the annual MUMS Puzzle Hunt! The Hunt will begin at 12pm August 7th and end at 12pm August 16th.

For those who are new to puzzle hunts, the MUMS Puzzle Hunt has been an (almost) annual fixture since 2004. Teams of up to 10 members compete by solving tricky puzzles designed to challenge lateral and creative thinking. This is a global event, with teams taking part from all over the world. A full description of what the MUMS Puzzle Hunt is about can be found on the website, along with a full list of rules: https://www.mumspuzzlehunt.com/. Please note that this website is different from the site used in previous hunts.

Why sign up?:

  • Entry is completely free, and open to anyone, regardless of puzzle-solving experience.
  • Puzzles are amazing fun. Most of them don't even involve maths!
  • The Hunt is held entirely online, so all you need to participate is an electronic device
  • There are $600 worth of prizes!
Have we convinced you yet? If so, register here. With two weeks to go, be sure to sign up soon and take part in what is undoubtably one of the biggest highlights in the MUMS calendar.

Really want to take part, but don't have a team yet? No worries, just fill out this form and we'll find a team for you. This option is only available for University of Melbourne students. Otherwise, feel free to register a solo team!

We'd really like to hear your feedback on this year's Puzzle Hunt, and are particularly interested in suggestions and improvements for future Hunts. Please feel free to provide feedback or email us for longer feedback. We'd love to hear from you!

Last but not least, we'd like to thank everyone in the team behind the Puzzle Hunt, as it would not have been successful without them. The whole list can be seen on the Credits page.
