My fourth year honours thesis was about the maths of juggling: Combinatorial aspects of juggling. The theory behind the practice of juggling is not only an attempt to describe and notate real juggling patters, but it also allows you to do some real maths that ostensibly has nothing to do with throwing stuff up in the air. Along with Steve Butler, Joe Buhler and Ron Graham (of Graham's number fame) we are working on a book Juggling counts all about juggling maths.
